We’re Coming Home!

This Sunday we are meeting back at 82 Westheights Drive for the first time in five months. Our time at Victoria Hills Community Centre has come to an end and we are excited to be back to our regular facility. I am writing this special letter to let you know some important items.

Our first Sunday at our newly renovated facility will require some flexibility from everyone. Unfortunately some sub contractors struggled to get their finishing work done and a last minute change from the building inspector means that Sunday will not be exactly as we had planned. The main floor is ready and we can use it for our main service in the auditorium. However, we will not have access to the lower level this Sunday. The children will meet in the portable building where Charlene Neuman has planned some special activities for the kids. Since the children cannot be in the main building and have their big party as originally planned, we are taking the approach that this Sunday, Nov 16th, will be our soft launch. This will give us an opportunity to work out some of the kinks in using the new space on the main floor. The following Sunday, Nov 23rd will be our official grand reopening with everyone (including the children) in the building.

See you this Sunday, November 16, 2014, at 10:30 am at 82 Westheights Drive. We are excited to be “back home” in our community. I think you will see that what we have done will allow us to maximize the use of our building to continue our kingdom work of helping others find and follow Jesus. Many people have worked immensely hard to make this happen. In the 13 years since I have been at Westheights, this has been the greatest team effort yet for Westheights Community Church and I am so deeply grateful that we have come together in this way.

At the Grand Reopening (November 23rd) we will provide tours of the basement so you can see first hand the dramatic improvement we have made in the children’s ministry space. And don’t forget that our Anniversary service will be held on November 30th as we celebrate the faithfulness of God and His people over the past thirty-six years. It is an exciting time as we continue to serve God together.

See you Sunday.
