Since 2004, Ride for Refuge has been an annual cycling fundraiser that provides funding to the displaced, vulnerable and exploited. It’s been a very successful way for anyone to get involved in helping to make the lives of others better. Westheights is a charity partner for this year’s Ride for Refuge. Proceeds from our participants’ fundraising efforts will help provide resources for our short-term missions trips to Nicaragua.

This year, Ride for Refuge has added a NEW route – for walkers! So now you can even pull out your strollers and take your young ‘uns for a walk for a good cause!

We are asking everyone at Westheights to get involved. As active riders or walkers, as sponsors, as prayer support for the event, and as encouragement for everyone who is involved.

But first, we need team leaders!

Create a brand new team and have fun concocting a team name. We can have any number of teams riding for us.

Be sure to select Westheights Nicaragua Project as your charity, and notify Doug Braun that you are creating a team.

There is a lot of information on the Ride’s website, such as: FAQ, How to Volunteer, Route maps, etc., and many helpful tips.

GO: Creating a team is done online at the same time that you personally register to ride or walk. Start at https://rideforrefuge.org/register, click “start a team”, select location “Kitchener/Waterloo”, click “create a team”, enter your crazy team name, choose charity “Westheights Nicaragua Project”, etc., until you are able to click the [yes, register me now!] button 🙂

Let Doug know if you have any questions.
