Happy Friday Westheights!
Did you happen to notice the news we posted on our blog this week? Starting on July 11, we will have two ways that you may participate in our Sunday gathering. The first is Westheights@Home and this refers to those of us who will continue to enjoy our weekly service from our homes. The other is called Westheights@82. This is something new that will take place at 82 Westheights Drive, Kitchener. We do realize that Westheights@82 is not going to be for all of us and that is okay. From wherever you participate, we want you to know that you are a part of our Westheights Community Church family! As we prepare to add Westheights@82, we would appreciate you taking this survey before Monday June 28. Thank you.
The Community Centre Collection – Thank You
This spring we have been collecting items to be distributed by the Forest Heights Community Centre. This month, we ask you to consider purchasing diapers (size 4-6 only) and you donated 1641 diapers. Thank you for your generosity!
RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLS IN CANADA: LISTENING AND LEARNING AS AN ACTIVE RESPONSE
Many of us have found ourselves deeply troubled by the news of the remains of 215 children being found on the grounds of a former residential school. For some of us, our reaction to this news has been that we do not know much about this chapter of Canadian history and its impact on Indigenous communities. This week the staff has compiled a list of resources that are intended to help us respond with a posture of listening and learning. You can find these resources on our blog.
VIRTUAL FOYER
This Sunday we are once again having a virtual foyer by using Zoom so that we can see and say ‘hi” to one another after the service. To join in right after this Sunday’s service, simply click this link.
Prayer Requests
If you would have something that you would like us to pray for, email your prayer request to prayerrequest@westheights.org. Prayer requests will be forwarded to Westheights folks who have expressed a desire to support us in prayer. If you would like to receive these prayer requests please email office@westheights.org and we will add you to the distribution list.
