want to it can zap the fun and excitement right out of it. Even our relationship with Jesus doesn’t escape this trend – as much as we might want it to. LIGHT OF THE WORLD

When you think of Easter, what do you think of first?  Many kids (and some adults for that matter) might say chocolate.  Chocolate is a wonderful gift from God, but it’s certainly not the biggest gift He has given us!  That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone; we all know that Easter is not really about eggs and candy.  The trouble is that even when we focus on the real meaning of Easter, I think we tend to get stuck in Good Friday mode without moving to the celebration of Easter Sunday. DON’T BE A SMARTY PANTS!  (A lesson in humility)

Have you ever been afraid to ask a question in case it made you seem dumb?  What if everyone else in the room knew the answer but you?  There is a saying that goes “it is better to be silent and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.”  There are certainly instances when it is important to know when to hold your tongue, but too often we avoid speaking up because we are afraid of what others might think of us.  While this seems innocent enough, this is really a form of pride – and one that most of us struggle with.
