WANTED: Missions Team Looking for Sports Equipment Donations

In February of 2011, a team of eleven people from Westheights will make their way to Nicaragua in South America.  Each team member is allowed two full-size suitcases on the plane and the hope is that each person will being one suitcase filled with personal items, and another suitcase filled with items to give to Nicaraguans.  (more…)

 

WANTED: Hockey Equipment Needed

The air is cooling and the days are getting shorter, but one of the best parts of the fall is the begining of the hockey season!  The WSM Sr. High students are starting an exciting new community event.  Starting in late September, Westheights will be hosting a weekly pick-up road hockey league for anyone 14+.  To get us started we’re looking for anyone who has new or well-loved hockey equipment to donate.   (more…)

WANTED: Toys for new toddler program

If you have any gently-used toddler toys that you can donate, email charleneneuman@westheights.org or drop them off to any of our Infant-Toddler care volunteers. We need:  large play items like an indoor playhouse (e.g. Little Tykes), kitchen, garden, workshop or picnic table, etc.; pop-up, spinning or pull toys; board books; puzzles suitable for toddlers. No plush or fabric toys or dress-up clothes please.

Ray of Hope’s Community Centre offers a place of safety and support to those struggling through poverty and homelessness in the core of downtown Kitchener.  Each man and woman who visits the centre is met by individuals who truly care about their well-being. (more…)
