Opportunity to Serve for Individuals and Families

The Food Bank is looking for volunteers to help hand out food drive bags at local grocery stores in Kitchener and Waterloo. Shifts are 2 hours in length. There are 2 volunteers per entrance needed (depending on the store). You can volunteer with a friend, brother, sister or parent. This is a great opportunity for families to volunteer together. Thanks to our many, many volunteers, Westheights’ Halloween for Hunger 2010 was a tremendous success! We had a great time meeting new people, working with old friends, getting to see some really fun costumes, enjoying some fresh air and exercise, connecting with our community and – of course – collecting a ton of food for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region! Halloween for Hunger is right around the corner! It’s not too late to sign up to join us as we go door to door collecting non-perishable food items for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. As well, please be sure to bring non-perishable food of your own to add to what we collect on Sunday evening. Last year we collected 2,226 pounds from the neighbourhood, and we’re hoping to top that this year! (more…)
