But maybe there is more to this life – another way to live! We have been invited into living Wide Awake…observing and engaging in life. We are aware and concerned about what is happening in the relationships and world around us, we are connected with our Creator and the redemptive story of which we are a part. In this world, we are facing some big problems. We have economic, social, cultural, relational and spiritual problems. In our distress today, may we turn to the Lord for revival, restoration, reawakening, and renewal. For the next seven weeks, we are doing a study on the Lord’s Prayer so we can reconnect with God, so that in our tough times we will turn to the Lord. This series is called Pray Like Jesus because if Jesus prayed it, you know God answered it. So this is a pattern for prayer. The starting point to the road of renewal is to connect with God, and prayer is a vital spiritual connection. (more…)

Service is at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, 49 Blueridge Avenue, Kitchener, at 1:30 pm on Friday, March 2nd. The theme is “Let Justice Prevail.”

 

International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted

Country Hills Missionary Church (corner of Ottawa and Fisher-Hallman) will be hosting a focussed prayer meeting for our persecuted brothers and sisters on Sunday, Nov 13 at 7pm. This is the date that Open Doors has set as the IDOP (International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted). Meg loaned me a book from Jack Hayford called Penetrating the Darkness. I really enjoyed this book on praying against the forces of the enemy. I recommend the book. If you read the book, recognize that Jack Hayford comes from a charismatic perspective in theology. (more…)
