Hey everybody, this is Karl Cober just back from a week’s vacation. This past week about 40 Westheightsians enjoyed a good week of fun, fellowship, worship and perhaps even relaxation in God’s beautiful creation north of Huntsville at Camp Kahquah’s family camp. Here is what some of them said about the week:

  • “The boys had a blast. It was great to have such a safe and fun environment for the boys to play in. There was so much to do for families of all ages and we are definitely going again next year. The favourite activities for the boys were the boat ride, high ropes, campfires, and carnival night, but it was also great to just spend time in fellowship with other Westheightsians. 🙂 We really appreciated the opportunity to get to know some of our church family better. The teaching was also good. It was both affirming and stretching. Joel and I both really appreciated having the childcare to allow us to go to the chapel each day.” Kaylagh
  • “To me, the first word that comes to mind when I think of camp is FUN! It’s so great having relaxed time with my brothers and sisters from Westheights. Whether it’s stories around the campfire, crazy volleyball rallies, unexpected twists in games of Wizard, or playing a silly song at the cafe, the week is filled with smiles and laughter. Going to camp is always a great reminder that there is a lot of joy in following Jesus.” Terry

If you would be interested in joining us at family camp next year, the Westheights group usually attends week 4 of family camp which I understand will be from August 19th to 27th, 2017. It sounds like there will be some good accommodations (i.e. cabins, rooms or camp sites) available. To get the best site though you will need to contact Caitlin or Graeme Hogg at Camp Kahquah on Saturday, October 15, 2016 or soon after as I suspect they may get booked quickly.

For more information about accommodations, email Camp Kahquah at kahquah@gmail.com. If you have questions about the Camp Kahquah experience, feel free to approach me any Sunday or any other folks you recognize from the  photos!
