Thanks to the many volunteers, Westheights’ Halloween for Hunger 2011 was a tremendous success! Once again we had a great time meeting new people, working with old friends, getting to see some really fun costumes, enjoying some fresh air and exercise, connecting with our community and – of course – collecting a ton of food for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region! It’s that time again… Halloween for Hunger is just around the corner! Join us on Monday , October 31st to go door-to-door in teams collecting food donations for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region. What a great opportunity to get to know people at Westheights, meet our neighbours, and serve the tangible needs of people in our community by collecting non-perishable food! To make Halloween for Hunger run we need a large number of volunteers of all ages so sign up today. (more…)

The numbers are in… Together we collected 2048lbs of non-perishable food for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region! None of it would have been possible without the over fifty volunteers who went door to door in the cold, drove all around Forest Heights, unloaded heavy bags of food and built complicated cardboard boxes. Halloween for Hunger THIS SUNDAY

Halloween for Hunger is right around the corner! It’s not too late to sign up to join us as we go door to door collecting non-perishable food items for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region. As well, please be sure to bring non-perishable food of your own to add to what we collect on Sunday evening. Last year we collected 2,226 pounds from the neighbourhood, and we’re hoping to top that this year! (more…)
